Motif Idea

Here's a motif idea I had for the camera shots. Since the story is all about a creature from DOWN below the water trying to get UP above to the air. I think it would be nice to have a lot of pan shots that go up and down (and vice versa).

For instance, we already have the opening and ending shot like that, perhaps we can add it here and there during the middle parts. What do you guys think?

  1. I like the idea of having a motif like that. I'm all for it, but my only concern is that the motif/pans might get too flat, and I keep thinking about what Pruiksma said about hating flat staging.

So when you say up/down pans, do you mean specifically up/down pans? Or just an up/down motif in general?

Sorry to be so nitpicky. And I love the little fish on our blog, very cute (: I love feeding them!

  3. Hey Karsen,

You have a good point. I guess just up and down motif in general? Something like what Nick said would be cool. Since the Octopus is our main character, having more worm eye views would work.

I like feeding the fish too. :P

    Nick, Nice idea! :)
